A Bit Of Family History

On this day in 1961, my Baba became an American citizen. I did not know about this until after death. In a way, I feel rather cheated that I didn't know when Baba became a citizen. In retrospect, I think I'd have liked to be there, or at least to have celebrated the event in some way. Are there any families who commemorate, in some way, the anniversary of the day one of them, perhaps now deceased, became a naturalized American, while at the same time honoring their heritage from the old country?
