In addition to, or perhaps I should say in conjunction with, "My Name Is Asher Lev" by Chaim Potok, I am reading "The Art Spirit" by Robert Henri. Updating this post to add: I'm still reading "The Art Spirit". It's the kind of book I like to linger over.
